It was August of 1997, I was 17 years old in 6th form college and just got back from a holiday in America. After waking up and having a shower I looked in the mirror in the bathroom, disgusted with what stared back at me, I stepped onto the scale to be even more irritated by what I read. I was fat! Something had to change and that’s when it all started. As anger at myself coincided with tears to what I had allowed myself to become, I had reached the turning point, the start of my journey into fitness.
Over the next year or three I got on a health and fitness regimen only, I did everything wrong and made tonnes of mistakes and have the scars to prove it but as I read and educated myself I grew more and more in knowledge of how the body worked, how to lose weight and how to get fit! And not just only fit, At this point I had revived a childhood love for the Martial arts too. Having done Tae Kwon Do as a child, I reignited my obsession with Martial Arts by taking up Kickboxing at University which soon led me to a trip to Thailand where I studied the art of Muay Thai. Armed with aspirations of becoming a professional fighter, I took all aspects of training, nutrition and fitness very seriously.
I achieved my aspiration of fighting professionally in 2003 and now the road to a European or even World title beckons.
My website aims to highlight my continuing journey as well as sharing health and fitness tips and advice I have learned along the way to help you reach your health and fitness goals. Whether you are just starting out, want to lose a bit of weight or are a professional fighter looking to up your game, It is my ambition that you will find something of value within my website.
