What’s your goal?

Ever read the book Alice in wonderland? I’m sure you’ve come across it either in book form or watched the movie every Christmas when it’s played on TV. You know the one, about the druggy chick who has a bad trip and ends up fantasizing about talking cats and feisty queens who like to chop peoples heads off whilst she takes even more drugs that make her grow big or small? (And it’s supposed to be a kid’s story???!!!)

Well, There’s a line in that book that I use a lot when coaching people about goals. It’s when the Cheshire Cat grins at Alice and asks, “Where are you going”? To which Alice Replies, “Which way shall I go?”. The cat again asks, “That depends where you are going?” and Alice replies, “I do not know” to which the Cheshire cat, in all his infinite wisdom replies, “Then it doesn’t matter which way you go”

You see, If you’ve not got a clear idea of where you’re going, then you’ll be like most people and just coast through not experiencing much success and when it comes to fitness goals, this is as true as if it were financial and business goals.

If you don’t know what you want to achieve in the say, next 6 months, with your health and fitness, then no one can really tell you what to do or which way to go and you’ll coast through the next 6 months and maybe stumble to success but it certainly won’t be a given.
